Most of my focus and experience has been in private practice working with people living with anxiety, depression and mood disorders. I favor an integrative approach of CBT and psychodynamic therapies. I am a compassion-focused therapist and draw on motivational interviewing, mindfulness practices and psychoeducation. Some common challenges I work with are low motivation, low self-esteem, people-pleasing behavior/setting boundaries, an overactive mind, vulnerability/communication issues and low mood. What works for one will not work for all as everyone is complex so interventions used are tailored to each client's goals and needs.
Part of my approach with clients is to help identify unhelpful thinking patterns to create new ways of thinking and change behaviors that keep us in destructive cycles. Clients gain a better understanding of where problematic thought patterns and behaviors stem from to help build self-compassion and create lasting change.
I strive to create a warm and safe environment for clients where growth and healing are possible. I support my clients in every possible way while they share their story and challenges.
