My name is Kristin Mansker and I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in Washington. I serve survivors of trauma, and those experiencing anxiety, depression, and stress in their relationships. I am an Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) certified therapist and use this modality alongside Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help alleviate symptoms of mental health and assist you with leading a healthier, happier, and more fulfilling life.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a powerful therapy that rebuilds healthy wiring in the brain. It rests on the assumption that your brain is “stuck in trauma time.” EMDR is like telling your brain that it’s okay now, that you’re safe. You’ll learn how to regulate emotions and release trauma from the body.
I use a strength-based approach, recognizing and highlighting the resources and innate wisdom that you already have within you. Together, we’ll examine your goals and come up with a plan to get you where you'd like to be. I love being a therapist and I bring a sense of humor, warmth, and compassion into therapy sessions.
