I have specific experience and enjoy working with folks who struggle with eating disorders and/or substance use disorders. I am also comfortable working with adults with other issues, including depression, anxiety, ADHD, trauma, relationship stress, parenting stress, grief and loss, life transitions, etc. I am passionate about social justice and incorporate this lens with all of my patients. I strive to be gender and LGBTQ affirming and have sought out specific coursework to support this effort.
I see my job as a counselor as being a supporter of your work to know, grow, and use your own wisdom and strength to move toward your goals. I am also aware of how power, privilege, and oppression can affect our work together. I invite discussion around this and seek to lessen the impact of any imbalance.
My goal is to empower you as the client to have choice and autonomy in our work together. I am continually humbled by the opportunity to witness and support my clients in their courageous efforts to understand, heal, and grow beyond the difficulties they experience.
