During a typical week, it can be difficult to know how we’re feeling and what's bothering us. Our attention has to be diverted to so many external things, that we barely have time to understand what’s going on internally. All we know is that we’re not feeling great and are mentally struggling in some way. Or we know exactly what’s bothering us, but have no idea where to go from there. Therapy is the 1 hour a week where we can focus on those mental/emotional aspects of life. Therapy is the place where we gain understanding of where we want to go in life, what may be getting in our way, and what we can do to help ourselves.
At each appointment, we'll provide you with strategies to help you turn healthy behaviors into naturally occuring habits. At the same time, we will teach you how to manage the stressful/uncomfortable areas of your life. We want each client to know how to process and find solutions to the difficult problems of life instead of sweeping them under the rug.
Our approach uses concepts from Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, and Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy. We believe that all forms of therapy should accomplish these 2 goals: 1. Add healthy, productive behaviors into your daily routine & 2. Manage the difficult, painful, or uncomfortable areas of your life.
