My name is Kim Nicolson, and I am a licensed clinical social worker and a doctor of social work. I specialize in working with adolescent youth, but I am experienced in working with people of all ages. I am educated in several evidence-based approaches, but my most important goal is to learn how each client experiences the world and how to relieve distress and optimize joy.
I predominantly work with individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, self-harming, and individuals experiencing suicidal ideation. I am comfortable with collaborating with those struggling with depression and/or anxiety to find what affords relief, and how to get unstuck.
I focus a lot on brain function, mindset, and identifying thoughts that stand in the way of each client's ability to be their best selves. I try to see the world through the eyes of my clients and join them in embracing their own power and unique strengths.
