I am passionate about supporting my clients in reaching their best selves and build a life worth living. My approach to psychotherapy is based mostly on our shared humanity. We are all humans and it is natural to have difficult moments and painful emotions sometimes. I strive to bring a non-judgmental, compassionate and warm approach to my clinical work. I genuinely believe, and the research data supports, that building a trusting relationship between client and therapist can be the key ingredient to making psychotherapy a profound healing experience.
DBT is an evidence-based treatment that assumes many of the problems we have result from skills deficits. The failure to use effective behavior when it is needed is often a result of not knowing skillful behavior or when or how to use it. DBT teaches skills in four areas: mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance and interpersonal effectiveness.
