My experience lies in working with people to find greater balance in emotions, behaviors, thinking patterns and relationships. Working with both adolescents and adults, a variety of approaches are utilized to best fit each individual. My specialties are in addiction and trauma, though work with a wide varieties of issues to help people find greater peace and balance. So many issues that interfere in people's lives comes from childhood and past experiences, making trauma expertise key in treatment.
With Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) training and experience, skill building and education is key to my approach. DBT is an evidence based therapy that targets self awareness, emotion management, coping strategies and communication. I also use several evidence based trauma therapies, particularly EMDR, to help people move through past experiences.
In the last five years I have extended my education and experience into addiction. With knowledge of the 12-step process and experience with a variety of treatment approaches, addiction treatment has become a true passion and specialty. I also provide services for A Way Out to help scholarship people of the Roaring Fork Valley into addiction treatment.
