Couples tend to be the relationship dynamic most likely to seek out therapy, but all relationships are important. Relationships I work with include, but are not limited to: marital, intimate partner, co-parent, sibling, friend, and workplace relationships. We tend to find ourselves repeating old patterns of attachment and communication created during formative years. This can lead to feeling stuck, frustrated, and disconnected. While two people are required to create a pattern in a relationship, one person can often effectively change the dynamic through learning new skills, setting healthy boundaries, and improving communication.
I'm a licensed clinical psychotherapist with a master's degree in clinical psychology. I specialize in relationship dynamics and undesirable sexual arousal patterns/behaviors. Areas of focus include separation/divorce, co-parenting, disconnection, relationship conflict, improving communication, intimacy-building, infidelity/affairs, and pornography.
The health and quality of our relationships directly impact our life satisfaction. Unresolved conflict, unhealthy communication patterns, and feelings of disconnectedness can negatively impact our stress level and make us more vulnerable to anxiety, depression, and general decline in mental health. Whether you come alone or together, you can make progress.
