I've had the opportunity to counsel individuals struggling with anxiety and depression as well as behavioral concerns. The goal of therapy is to provide my client with what they're needing most, a reduction in anxious symptoms for example while collaborating on how they might function in society without barriers. I also complete comprehensive psychological evaluations for concerns with anxiety, depression, ADHD, learning disabilities, intellectual disabilities, and Autism. Although each client is different and their needs unique, each assessment's goal is to help answer the presenting question.
Therapy services will use the Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) approach and strategies. This can help to identify maladaptive thought patterns contributing to stress and anxiety, help challenge thought processes in order to form a better understanding of the behaviors and feelings, and developing effective coping and social problem-solving strategies.
I understand that it's a difficult task to ask for some support, whether this is you trying to understand your child more or finding ways to best support them in school, or finding ways to best support yourself and really just wanting to feel better and less stressed.
