ADULT AGE FEMALE ONLY COUNSELOR I see my role in the counseling process as that of a "change agent". Someone who is meeting you at possibly one of the worst times in your life and saying "I'm willing to walk with you through this journey". My desire is to help women who are tired of living a life that no longer works for them. Often stressful life events, such as relationship challenges, job problems, health issues, or coping difficulties can trigger suffering and the need for support.
My method of counseling is cognitive behavorial therapy because the way we think impacts the way we act. Neglecting our own needs due to stress can lead to mental and physical decline. Asking for help is challenging but it is the best gift we give to ourselves.
I believe people are resilient but there are times when even the strongest of the strong need help. Maya Angelou, said it best in her poem "Still I Rise" as she speaks to our inner strength and how no matter what the circumstances-WE CAN RISE. Help is available.
