Hi! I'm Kiarra, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Texas offering teletherapy to Texas residents. I received my Masters in Couples, Marriage and Family Therapy from Texas Tech University. I am also currently pursuing my PhD in Marriage and Family Therapy. My clinical work primarily focuses on: using culturally competent practices to assist couples with increasing their emotional connection, creating positive attachment experiences within families and parent-child relationships, and walking alongside trauma and abuse survivors on their journey of healing.
I work from a few approaches such as, Solution-Focused, Emotionally Focused, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral, and Experiential, with an emphasis on gender and cultural influence. I believe that each individual client has unique identities, and I create a safe and non-judgmental space where my clients can be free to be their authentic selves.
