Establishing and maintaining meaningful relationships is often challenging. Perhaps your relationships lack intimacy, end abruptly, or you find yourself attracting the wrong kind of person. Psychotherapy is a process designed to examine these difficulties. As a therapist, I can assist you in exploring the personal beliefs and relational patterns which keep you from having satisfying relationships. Whether you are wanting to work on a significant relationship in couples or family therapy or address an individual concern, such as anxiety and/or depression, I will tailor the interventions specific to your circumstance. In addition to seeing adults, I have extensive experience working with children and adolescents.
Childhood is a vulnerable period. Youth struggling with the challenges inherent in development also often face additional stresses including: blended family issues, academic struggles, peer difficulties, anxiety, and depression. Due to limited life experience, they are not always equipped to effectively manage these challenges. I assist children and their families in addressing such issues.
In addition to working directly with clients, I provide consultation and supervision for clinicians. I am an instructor in the graduate program at the Institute for Clinical Social Work in Chicago. I teach courses in clinical technique, child treatment, and couples/family psychotherapy. Prior to becoming a clinician, I was an elementary school teacher.
