Welcome! My belief in the healing potential of psychotherapy is grounded in the decades of research on attachment, trauma and the body, and relational neuroscience. Our early relationships and experiences, including trauma, form the lens through which we experience our day-to-day lives. By understanding distressing patterns in our here-and-now functioning as remnants of protective and adaptive functioning in early life, we can move towards change from a place of self-compassion and deep understanding.
Together, we will work to create an observing self that can recognize and safely begin to shift out of patterns of shut-down, reactivity, and emotional distress. I have specialized training and experience in complex/developmental trauma, relationships, parenting, and issues of mood/emotional regulation.
Collaboration and responsiveness is at the heart of my approach, and I draw from theories and treatment approaches that incorporate the brain, body, and inner emotional experience.
