My approach to therapy is to present information in a powerful, meaningful, personalized way to elicit engagement and personal investment in how base neurological and biological influences affect thoughts that convey to behavioral changes. When Clients become uniquely invested in this process, it gains value, informing daily life improvement that restructure faulty narratives, alters paradigms, and provides the framework where future stimulus or environmental information will be applied.
The use of biological and developmental theories is an important piece of the mental health puzzle that honors our unique, primal psychological influences to create a valuable model for how our thoughts, emotions and behaviors are created and therefor how they can be rewritten. These higher processes engage systems that then create permanent changes.
My theoretical orientation creates the foundation for application of CBT (Cogntive-behavioral), DBT (Dialectical behavioral), solutions-focused, person-centered, trauma-informed care, and eclectic treatment modalities that use bio/neuro-feedback concepts to engage higher brain/executive processing.
