I believe the goal of therapy is to help individuals live their most authentic and fulfilling lives. This includes exploring themselves, their relationships to others, and their place in the world. Within the context of a safe and non-judgmental therapeutic relationship, individuals can develop self-awareness and identify patterns they desire to change. Using empathy, direct feedback, and skill building, I believe individuals can heal, grow, and enjoy their lives more fully. I practice using an integrative approach grounded in psychodynamic and relational theories as well as incorporating mindfulness techniques.
I have expertise working with anxiety, self-esteem, relationships, identity and transition issues, and trauma. Additionally, I have a specialty in career identity and transition issues. I have significant experience working with undergraduate and graduate students as well as international and individuals representing diverse cultural and social identities.
As an LGBTQ*affirming therapist, I enjoy helping all individuals understand their identities and culture in a deeper way. I am a therapist who works to empower individuals to live authentically, collaborates in identifying problems and creating solutions, and focuses on implementing long-term change.

Career Counseling and Assessment
Dr. Critchell provides career assessments and counseling to assist individuals who have recently undergone a career change. This could be related to dissatisfaction with a current job, interest in changing careers, or not knowing where to start. Empirically validated assessments will be used to help evaluate and illuminate career interests/values and assist clients in finding a more fulfilling job. Individualized and integrated feedback will be provided over the course of three appointments to ensure the best possible insights and outcomes.
