My counseling philosophy is to build a trusting therapeutic relationship with the children, families, and school districts that I work with to allow for safe exploration of the thoughts, feelings, and emotions that impact the school day and beyond. I am a licensed mental health counselor (LMHC) and a school adjustment counselor (SAC). My passion is to help children and their families learn new and effective strategies to live a life worth living and create a solid foundation of self love.
Trauma is identified as an emotional response or wound to a distressing experience. I have been blessed to help support children who have a childhood wound or whose emotional responses are negatively impacting their relationships, self esteem, and academic success. I lovingly work with children who require special educational services such as an IEP or 504.
My journey began as a Health/PE teacher in 2008. I climbed my way to my dream job as a therapist and school adjustment counselor. My roles as a graduate student, mentor, class advisor, and cross country/track and field coach have all led me here. I look forward to developing specific treatment plans based on the needs of individuals I am working with.
