Hi! My name is Kelly Carter and I am a licensed social worker in Maryland. I have experience working primarily with adolescents and young adults struggling with depression, anxiety, self-harm/suicidal ideation, mood disorders, history of trauma, and dysfunctional family relationships. I am trained in eye-movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) and utilize the modality to help clients process through traumatic life experiences. I help clients identify specific, yet realistic goals that match their vision of a life that is focused on thriving rather than surviving.
My person-centered clinical approach focuses on creating a warm, authentic therapeutic space that helps clients feel comfortable bringing every version of themselves to therapy. I tailor my therapeutic approach to the unique needs of each client while gently challenging them to do the work and make progress towards their personal goals.
