Hi! My name is Kel Smith. I am a queer, trans woman and somatic therapist. I view somatic therapy as an invitation to be playfully curious about how our bodies carry experiences. Looking for a therapist can be loaded with complex feelings such as apprehension, excitement, even fear. I invite us to tend to those feelings with curiosity as they may inform our work together. A session with me is a space to be with what comes up from longings and desires, to muscle tensions and impulses, even embodied memories. I work on values of ongoing, explicit, and informed consent and taking an active and supportive role in my work with clients.
I may be a good therapist for you if you are looking to deepen your sense of agency, better understand your embodied experiences, seeking support in navigating challenging life transitions, and/or recognizing and shifting behavior patterns and internal narratives. I also support in cultivating tools to manage anxiety, dissociation, and depressive symptoms.
I am available to work with adults, couples, and teens. I work with people of all sexual orientations, gender identities, and neurotypes.
