I believe in helping clients heal by establishing safe and secure attachments and relationships, utilizing current strengths, and building resources and skills to create lasting change. A little about me: I see clients from ages 12-70, but specialize in working with adolescents and young adults. I treat a variety of concerns including depression, anxiety, trauma, ADHD, relationship issues, family conflict, low self-esteem, stress management, and life transitions. I have extensive experience in working with children and adolescents with safety concerns such as self-harm and suicidal ideation, depression, and family conflict.
My therapeutic approach is rooted in Person-Centered therapy in which the relationship between client and clinician is a priority and is based in mutual trust, respect, acceptance & empathy. In addition to a Person-Centered, trauma-informed approach, I utilize techniques from cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, & narrative therapy.
I tailor my approach to therapy to be a unique fit for each client based on their needs and goals for therapy. Because I believe clients are the expert on themselves, I use a collaborative approach to the therapeutic relationship in which client and therapist mutually work together to explore and identify areas of life causing distress and goals for therapy.
