I had the great privilege of training with Virginia Satir, a pioneer in a Systems approach to therapy. This approach examines how early learning in the family-of-origin, affects present day behavior. The many concepts she shared about people, how we can change and grow, have have been influential to me personally and inform my work. My wish is to share with others how to better communicate, improve relationships with self and others and, not only better cope with life challenges, but thrive. I join with clients to create a safe atmosphere where people can risk and grow.
I have been in private practice for more than thirty years and work with individual personal growth, couple and family difficulties. I specialize in longer-term work with clients who wish to make changes that improve relationships, increase self-value and and create systems in which all can thrive.
I have trained with Elaine De Beauport in the application of Triune Brain research to psychotherapy. Understanding our brain and its many functions is a key to how we can best use ourselves. Training with Jean Houston expanded my awareness of peoples, cultures, their sameness and differentness and human potential
