Katie is a graduate of Kent State University with a Masters of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She also completed her Bachelor’s of Science in Human Development and Family Studies with a concentration in Family Life Education. She has experience working with childhood trauma, anxiety, depression, PTSD, family violence, parenting, behavioral concerns, as well as supporting children and families involved in the foster care system. She also has experience working with individuals of all ages navigating family dynamics and interpersonal relationships that impact their lives.
Katie’s experience revolves heavily around serving at-risk youth, individuals and their families in a variety of settings. Some of these include being a Family Advocate for Head Start and Early Head Start, the Resident/Child Advocate at a Domestic Violence Homeless Shelter, as well as a Behavioral Health Specialist for a local non-profit mental health agency
Katie approaches counseling through a trauma-informed lens with emphasis on a holistic approach. She hopes to create a safe space where individuals feel understood and can be comfortable being their authentic selves.
