Trauma, loss, interpersonal struggles, life stressors, and emotional pain are hardships everyone faces in some form, but each individual is impacted differently. Counseling can offer a safe and inclusive space that treats each person as a unique individual and allows them to feel heard, validated, and respected. Although I can help provide guidance and insight, I believe that you are the expert of you. Counseling can be a space to process your emotions and experiences while gaining empowerment, confidence, and the tools to make changes and decisions on your own.
My main approach to counseling is person-centered with a trauma-informed lens. I also implement emotion-focused and Adlerian into my practice, as well as trauma-focused CBT for children/adolescents. I believe in the importance of treating each client as a unique individual and meeting them where they are at.
It is understandable to feel overwhelmed, intimidated, and vulnerable when starting counseling. I believe in the importance of a strong therapeutic relationship that is built at your own pace.
