I teach people how to listen to themselves and what to listen for. Every problem, anxiety, or conflict is calling for a fresh perspective-- a way to see it from a new angle. Symptoms are the signals indicating that we need to take the time to notice, listen, and explore what we "hear." We can understand and connect with the unmet needs to which our symptoms are alerting us rather than merely silencing the messenger symptom without getting the important message we need.
When you work with me, we will attend to how you feel emotionally, physically, and spiritually. How you feel affects every aspect of your life--your health, your career, your relationships, and everything else you do. Beneath the "shoulds" in each of us lies innate wisdom. I focus on helping you find this wisdom and use it. I do not adhere to only one technique or type of therapy as each of us needs attuned responsiveness rather than a set program. I follow you, drawing on my training in working with the unconscious --psychodyamics, cognitive therapy, and the ways we have been conditioned.
I offer therapy in a warm and collaborative environment focusing on accessing personal potential and unburdening oneself of "shoulds" and "thou shalts" as dominating and restricting forces in life. Each person is a unique being who requires an innovative, sensitively attuned approach rather than a set program.
