The focus of my practice is healing trauma. "Trauma results in a fundamental reorganization of the way the mind and brain manage perceptions. It changes not only how we think and what we think about, but also our very capacity to think.” (Bessel van der Kolk). Brainspotting facilitates access to the trauma so that it can be processed and meaningfully integrated, allowing retrieval of cut-off, frozen parts of self and re-establishing a harmony between mind, body and spirit. Healing, or becoming whole, is not about fixing or curing. It involves a reinterpretation of one’s life through the transcendence of suffering.

All people suffer. But feeling trapped in the suffering and being unable to move through it alienates a person from themselves, their loved ones, and society and causes profound mental anguish and despair.
