I place a large emphasis on understanding an individual's relationships and view the therapy relationship as the primary vehicle for change. I believe that through the therapy relationship individuals can work through difficult emotions, learn adaptive information/skills, and increase self-knowledge in order to achieve positive change in their life.
I view therapy as a collaborative process and value the identities of each individual, as well as cultural or systemic factors that may impact an individual's worldview or presenting concerns. I aim to empower individuals, promote a sense of personal agency, foster curiosity, and increase understanding of various parts of self.
I consider myself a generalist and enjoy working with a wide variety of presenting concerns. However, I am particularly interested in working with body image and disordered eating concerns, identity-related concerns/stress (e.g., sexual orientation, gender identity, race/ethnic identity), trauma, and conducting psychological assessment.
