Each person is unique, in that their upbringing, experiences, and values play a role in making them unlike anyone else. This also means that a person’s story will never be the same as another’s, which can feel lonely when navigating trials and life changes. I do believe that everyone has the capacity for healing, growing, and changing. My favorite part of being a therapist is being able to get to know each unique individual, providing a space for them to process their past, helping them discover their authentic selves, and exploring how they can make changes in their lives to align their future with their true selves.
I believe the most important component is the therapeutic relationship, and it is necessary to establish a space of trust and safety. I practice from a person-centered, collaborative, strengths-based, and trauma-informed lens and utilize interventions from different modalities, based on what’s appropriate for each client’s individual needs.
