I work with children, adolescents and adults with a curiosity about how we can live more connected and meaningful lives. Often the ways we have learned to adapt to our world (or world view) is no longer effective or relevant. I seek to help create deeper awareness and insight into underlying motives, defenses, and desires. Together we explore patterns that contribute to struggles and dissonance in day to day life.
I have 30 years of experience in the mental health field, including many years working in residential homes for emotionally troubled youth, as director of an outpatient family-based program, and the past 15 years in private practice. My work is guided by training in attachment and developmental theories, family systems theory, and psychoanalysis.
