I believe that with enough stress anyone could become overwhelmed and need help re-grouping. My goal is to help clients identify and access strengths as well as learn new coping skills to have happier relationships; increased self-esteem; and a more fulfilling life. I have experience with all types of clients and issues ranging from adjustment problems (primarily relationships and work) to more complex issues including depression, anxiety, grief, and unresolved childhood abuse.
I have extensive training in Internal Family Systems; a model that is both safe and powerful. It allows clients to access a strong, solid core or True Self and heal hurt sub-personalities or "parts." It especially helps clients clarify internal conflicts and learn to deal with confusing behaviors.
I believe in client "self-determination." That is, the client sets the goals and I function as a coach or guide to reach the goals. I believe that healing is inherently spiritual as well as emotional and encourage clients to embrace whatever spiritual path may be of value to them.
