Hello! My name is Katie Ricamato, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Master’s in Art Therapy. I am also training to become an EMDR therapist. Have you found that words have failed you? My clinical work focuses on seeing creativity as a tool for healing and facing past trauma, which has helped my clients look at life and themselves through a different lens.
I use expressive arts and EMDR to treat the underlying thought and emotional patterns that lead to depression, anxiety, and other mental health struggles. Having a process to use to develop skills for coping with life’s difficult thoughts, feelings, and circumstances helps my clients feel more confident in facing their mental health struggles.
I also use these methods to work with clients to allow them to go deeper into self-understanding in ways that talking about the present can't. Know that you are not alone.
