My passion is in working with children and adolescents above the age of 8 and their families. I enjoy supporting youth struggling with anxiety, depression, identity, peer relationships, self-esteem, and social and family issues. I am skilled at connecting with children and adolescents through their individual interests and quickly build strong therapeutic relationships. I believe that the therapeutic experience is a truly magical adventure and love utilizing different methods related to play and expressive arts.
Younger children enjoy play therapy, which is a beneficial way to connect using their natural language. We use art, imaginative play, and games to process life concerns. With adolescents and older teens, more expressive arts interventions are engaging and beneficial.
As a former military child, I have moved around frequently but call central Texas my home. In my personal time, I enjoy playing with my dog, running, and traveling. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and am in pursuit of my Registered Play Therapist credential. I graduated from UMHB with a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
