I recently relocated to Eastern NC after having originally practiced in the Piedmont Triad. With over 22 years of experience as a mental health counselor, I would be happy to support you in your journey to being the best version of yourself. I am relationship based and value the connection I have with my clients. I view my work as a partnership based on honoring my client's strengths and demonstrating flexibility to meet the needs of each individual. I work to understand each person's unique challenges and assist in finding ways of moving past obstacles and finding solutions to live a fulfilling life.
My areas of specialty include: anxiety based disorders such as generalized anxiety disorder and panic disorder, life transitions, trauma, post-traumatic stress disorder and obsessive-compulsive disorder. I also work with mood disorders including depression and bipolar disorder in addition to LGBTQ issues, grief and loss, and relational difficulties.
I practice EMDR for the treatment of trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder. I also utilize acceptance commitment therapy, CBT strategies, motivational interviewing, mindfulness and brief solution focused approaches.
