Greetings! My name is Kate Melnychuk, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) based in Eugene, Oregon with 5 years of experience providing psychotherapy. I work with adults and families seeking support with a range of needs in therapy, including anxiety, depression, LGBTQIA+ related issues, and relational stress. I utilize the modalities of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused therapy, and mindfulness based practices to support clients in achieving their goals to work towards fulfillment and feeling better.
My person-centered approach is a good fit for clients who may be experiencing increased stress due to life transitions, relational issues, and who are motivated to address their goals and work towards healing. I am skilled and experienced in working with clients who identify as LGBTQIA+, and emphasize providing a safe, compassionate space for clients.
During our first session, clients may expect to spend our time discussing presenting stressors, as well as relevant history and health information that will help my understanding of your needs and concerns. This first session is about building connection, answering any questions, and helping to get a sense of where we will begin on this journey together.
