I am the founder and clinical director of the Maryland Center for Gender and Intimacy. As a psychotherapist, I specialize in gender, sex, and affirming treatment of LGBTQIA2+ people. I provide compassionate, skilled therapy to clients seeking to heal, connect with their authentic selves, and strengthen relationships. I support gender-diverse individuals as they pursue gender congruence. I help families to better understand their transgender loved ones and navigate gender transition together. I also provide free assessments to those seeking letters of support for gender-affirming medical care.

As a sex and relationship therapist, I work with individuals and partners of all identities who seek to heal, understand, and improve their intimate relationships. I am kink- and poly-aware and affirming. I work with relationship partners to find deeper connection, improve communication, and resolve conflict.

I work from a liberationist, anti-oppressive treatment perspective that focuses on healing from all forms of suffering. A free, biweekly support group for parents & families of transgender and nonbinary people sponsored by the Frederick Center and facilitated by Calvin Ryan, LMSW (he/him). We provide a safe, nonjudgmental space to give and receive support, share resources, and connect with other families navigating the joys and challenges of loving trans and gender-diverse young people. Newcomers are welcome. We're here for you no matter where you are in your journey. We meet on the first Saturday of the month in person at the Frederick Center, and on the third Saturday we meet via Zoom. Contact TransFamily@thefrederickcenter.org for more information.

The Frederick Center's TransTeens group is a FREE, twice-monthly support group for youth ages 14-18 who are questioning their gender and/or identify as transgender, non-binary, and/or gender non-conforming. Facilitated by Merrick McKelvie, LMSW (they/he), a transgender licensed mental health clinician from the Maryland Center for Gender and Intimacy, TransTeens is a safe, nonjudgmental space for gender-diverse youth to find community, navigate challenges, share resources, and celebrate their identities.
