Hi, my name is Kate and I want to help you meet your goals. Whether you are feeling overwhelmed and stuck, anxious or depressed things can change. I have been serving the Cape Fear Community since 2015, working with people of all ages, who are suffering from mood instability, anxiety, depression, PTSD and other trauma-related diagnoses and challenges, anger management, behavioral issues, bipolar disorder, ADHD and relationship issues. Prior, I spent several years providing Memory-Care support for individuals and their families struggling with dementia & dementia-related illness and TBI, including post-stroke support.
I utilize evidence-based practices including EMDR, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Structural Family Therapy, concepts of Family Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Behavior Modification and Solution-focused therapies to elicit healthy and supported change in a safe and comfortable environment.
I provide a trauma-informed, strengths-based, systems approach to my practice and believe that trust, compassion and collaboration are the cornerstones to a fulfilling therapeutic relationship.
