I believe that therapy is a collaborative process that considers your life experiences, patterns, relationships, and beliefs that have shaped you and are currently influencing your ways of being in the world. You are the only one who has experienced your life; therefore, I encourage you to think of yourself as the expert. My goal is to empower and guide you in expanding healthy awareness, rather than give you advice.
I use a person-centered approach while relying heavily on Internal Family Systems-informed strategies. However, the approach I use differs from client to client based on what will be the most beneficial for them as a unique individual. My counseling experience focuses on concerns related to anxiety, depression, divorce/relationship issues, ADHD, and more.
I have a Ph.D. in Neuroscience and a M.Ed. in Counseling. I taught Psychology courses in Higher Education for over 15 years. I want to help you help yourself. I founded Loving Piranha to be a safe space for all to come and grow, learn, and heal. I believe Loving Piranha's motto: "People come in all varieties - so does our counseling."
