Being a teen or young adult is hard. And, yes it is hard being a parent, too. I believe that working collaboratively with young people and their families is rewarding and necessary for positive lasting change. I have witnessed how therapy can be a powerful way to learn more about yourself, resolve conflict, and develop and practice skills. With the client, I will explore needs, motivation for change, and set goals that are achievable and desirable. I will do this in an authentic, safe, affirming way that is moving toward wellness.
I specialize in school/university, home, sports, work and community concerns. I use integrative clinical approach, that includes clinical hypnosis, CBT, and play-base methods that include music, journaling, expressive art, and psychodrama to connect, intervene, and educate. You will be 'doing therapy' not 'getting therapy.'
I am a married and we are the parents of two neurodiverse teens. I know the joys and challenges of navigating the complexity of parenting and growing up in this ever-changing world. I approach this work with a tremendous amount of patience, hope, and therapeutic interventions. I can not wait to being our work together. I welcome you to my practice!
