This is where I focus on getting to the underlying cause of the issue. Frequently, there are traumatic/unhappy events that are causing these knee jerk reactions. That feeling when you are overwhelmed and get anxious, angry, scared, or shut down..... Often are all because of events that have been stored dysfunctional. With most clients I start off with EMDR.
I think and work holistically by working to use natural ways of balancing the body. EMDR is the main modality I use when working with clients and I also balance the brain with amino acids and use other frequency methods when working with clients who are open to that.
