Counseling can be a powerful way to improve self-esteem, understand family dynamics, strengthen relationships, and build an encouraging support system. I come with a wide range of experience, working with children in residential treatment as young as 11 y.o., through outpatient treatment to age 70. Often times, counseling is the first place someone learns to identify and untangle the traumas of their life to become the best version of themselves in the present. My focus is to understand the unique goals of each person and help them achieve those goals with compassion and patience.
PTSD or Trauma not resolved through talk therapy or EMDR? Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) allows for resolution of major traumas in 1-5 sessions using eye movements and voluntary image replacement. By directly reprogramming the way distressing memories and images are stored in the brain, they no longer trigger strong physical and emotional reactions.
I have over 15 years of experience working with a variety of populations to include Veterans. First Responders, DV, DUI/DWI, Substance Abuse, Sex Offending, Parenting concerns, Trauma, court involvement, and those with unhealthy coping skills. We all have unique needs and struggles that can be addressed without fear or judgment.
