People's stories are one of the most valuable things we have in life. If you want to have a meaningful relationship with someone, you need to be able to understand your own story. Helping individuals to develop and enhance their personal stories is at the crux of my work as a therapist. We all have public and private lives, and I believe the power of developing the stories behind these separate selves is how people vividly change their lives.
I see my role as a therapist as helping my patients connect their past and their present narratives. Together, we see the underlying cognitions that are holding them back, and remove them to approach life in a more meaningful way.
My practice commonly includes the treatment of depression, anxiety (symptoms of panic or general anxiety), the effects of trauma, repetitive self-destructive patterns, grief and loss (recent or longstanding), low self-confidence, stress management, body image issues, and creative blocks.
