My name is Sybil Guliford, and I am a licensed clinical social worker with over 20 years’ experience working with varying populations as a psychotherapist and in varying capacities in the medical field. My specialty is women’s health, coming-of-age, young adulthood, menopause, and death/dying. I am proficient with other societal issues and with varying mental health-related diagnoses such as anxiety and depression.

As a certified Brainspotting therapist, we can focus on releasing the painful emotions and reactions to recent trauma or loss that you no longer need dominating your life, if you're ready. These include grief (profound sadness, anger, shame, guilt, numbness and despair) anxiety, flashbacks, nightmares, and depression. The further back the trauma the more challenging it can be, however I try hard to be supportive and help achieve the change you want. I have worked with all kinds of trauma with compassion. I seek to help you achieve vitality, peace, confidence and wholeness in your body.

Sometimes we experience life changing events that cause us lose sight of our hopes and dreams. Our fears can deceive us into believing that we will never be okay again. We do not have to be defined by what has happened to us. I believe that no matter what we have been through we have the potential to create for ourselves, a happy, rich and full life worth living. It is not easy to overcome the bad experiences but it is possible. Therapy can increase psychological flexibility and allow us to not be open again.
