Using a combination of cognitive approaches like ACT and DBT, I'll help you break the negative cycles holding you back so you can live in harmony with your values.
You're exhausted, overwhelmed, at the end of your rope. This is not how you imagined life would be. Everyone counts on you to keep it all together, but sometimes, it feels like they take advantage. Extra assignments fall onto your plate. Friends and family need emotional support, and you’re always there. You spend so much time helping others that you have nothing left for yourself. You wish there was another way.

I come from a narrative, trauma-informed framework. This means that I am willing to explore a client's story and experiences with compassion and courage. Trust and safety are very important in the therapy relationship and I strive to create a safe environment. I am trained in DBT coping and mindfulness skills, as well as addictions therapy and betrayal trauma/infidelity recovery therapy. Your story is unique to you - and while it does not define you, it may provide helpful clues to where you are now in life and in relationships. I will invite you to that same courage as you are ready, which may take time.

I am trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and also use DBT and Solution Focused Therapy.
I am an LPC Associate, supervised by Miranda Solis, LPC-S. I have worked with teens who have been in partial or inpatient hospitalization, teens currently in the child welfare system in the group home setting, and children and families following an outcry of abuse. A big part of working with this population is working with their parents, so I could be a good fit if your child has experienced any of these events. I also have experience with depression, anxiety, trauma, and bipolar disorder. My age range is from age 8-80.

Training includes EMDR, CBT, DBT, and IFS with a relational foundation at the core of her work.
My passion is supporting women as they navigate their multiple roles both at work and in relationships. One of my special interests is working with women who want to change their relationship with alcohol. In my experience, women often experience symptoms of anxiety, depression, and burn out if healthy boundaries are not set to manage the never ending demands of life. I help clients develop boundaries, coping skills, and nervous system regulation strategies to create a life they are excited to live. I am trained in EMDR, the industry standard in treating trauma, as well as CBT, DBT and IFS.

I am EMDR, CPT and DBT skills trained, and I use those approaches to treatment in addition to other modalities.
Relationships can be difficult to navigate, both with others and with oneself, and not having the right tools can make a difficult job even more challenging. Add to this day-to-day life events and unprocessed trauma, and it can be easy to feel like things will not get better, leaving you feeling empty and hopeless. I want to be there on your journey by holding the space for you, helping you process your thoughts and feelings, learning who you are and what you need, and supporting you as you learn new skills, strengthen the ones you already have, process your trauma safely, and develop and/or nurture healthy relationships.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT) Therapists
Who is DBT for?
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is designed for people who experience extreme emotional suffering because they lack the skills of emotion regulation and distress tolerance. The basic affliction can underlie a wide range of conditions, from borderline and other personality disorders to PTSD and treatment-resistant anxiety and depression. The therapy is helpful to those whose emotional reactivity is so intense it is disruptive to everyday functioning and leads to frequent crises.
Why do people need DBT?
The ability to regulate emotions is a core psychological skill that enables people to function in life and pay attention to the world outside themselves; it is consistently associated with well-being. DBT is designed to help people learn how to manage and regulate their emotions. Originally developed to treat people with borderline personality disorder whose extreme emotional suffering led to self-harming behavior and suicide attempts, the therapy is now applied to other conditions involving emotion dysregulation, particularly when other treatments have failed.
What happens in DBT?
Individuals meet weekly with their therapist to discuss their experiences relating to moods, behavior, and skills. Using checklists they maintain, they review emotional experiences and positive practices they engage in. The diaries help individuals discern what led up to a specific problem encountered, this is followed by discussion of the consequences of their actions. In addition, individuals may meet in class-like small groups to learn skills such as mindfulness, emotion regulation and distress tolerance.
How long does DBT last?
Because it is intended to establish long-lasting behavioral change among those with persistent problems, DBT is designed to last six months to a year. DBT includes both weekly sessions of individual therapy and weekly skills-training sessions conducted in small groups. Studies of DBT have documented improvement within a year of treatment, particularly in controlling self-harmful behavior; nevertheless, individuals may require therapy for several years.
