I am a therapist with over twenty years experience. I believe that all of us seek resolution or peace from our daily struggles; whether that be with our relationships or with work. My belief is that therapy can be an arena for change in order to achieve higher levels of personal satisfaction with life. The key to any therapeutic relationship is trust. Trust needs to be present between both the client and the therapist. My therapeutic style is warm, empathic but direct. I believe these attributes are vital to the therapeutic process.
I have worked in various therapeutic settings that include: private practice, therapeutic day school in and out patient psychiatric hospitals. I have a strong concentration working with individuals around issues of depression and anxiety. My career began on a dual diagnosis unit which has given me a rich background in addictions, eating disorders, and trauma.
My clinical training has been in psychodynamic and systems theory. Through the years I have always pursued on going training and have learned various other treatment modalities. Most recently I have been attending EMDR training which has broaden the healing process with many of my clients.
