It is my goal to create an environment of acceptance, trust and understanding in which my clients feel safe, supported and heard. I use an integrative, client-centered approach and believe in tailoring my counseling approach and interventions to best fit my client’s needs and unique personality. I have experience working with teens, adults and couples from diverse backgrounds on issues of anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions and self-identity. Being from Germany originally and having lived in three countries, I also enjoy working with clients with multicultural backgrounds on issues around cultural identity.
I have extensive experience working with survivors of trauma and clients struggling with anxiety, depression, self-identity and life transitions. I am trained in and utilize interventions from EMDR, CBT, DBT, IFS Trauma-Informed Care, Motivational Interviewing and Mindfulness. I am also a Certified Sexual Assault Counselor.
I meet every client with genuineness, openness and curiosity. I truly care about getting to know who you are as a person, what matters most to you, what may be keeping you from living your best life. There is no “one size fits all” approach to therapy, and I strive for a collaborative process to assist clients with creating a more meaningful life experience.
