My name is Dr. Julie Franks, and I'm a licensed maternal mental therapist + founder of Nurturing the Sisterhood, where I offer support for the unique challenges that come with pregnancy and postpartum, including depression, anxiety, and trauma related to infertility and pregnancy loss. I believe that becoming a mother + parenting young children is rarely what we expected; it's so much harder. And what's even worse is that it's taboo to talk about the way motherhood impacts your mental health. I believe that, with support, you can start feeling better quickly. And that's where I come in. I'm here to help.

Helping women + moms feel their best during the perinatal period, which includes trying to conceive, pregnancy, postpartum, and early motherhood, is my specialty. We can navigate relationship changes, parenting challenges, career demands, and mental health symptoms like grief, postpartum anxiety and postpartum depression.
My goal is to help you protect your mental health as you navigate the visible and invisible demands of this phase of life. As a mother to a young child myself, I understand how important it is to have a therapist who respects you as a parent, offers support, and nurtures you. I'm here for you when you're ready.
