My name is Dr. Julie A. Xiques-Prieto. I am a bilingual clinical psychologist that has been providing bilingual services in the Chicago area for more than twenty years. I completed my doctoral degree in clinical psychology at the Illinois School of Professional Psychology in 1996. My career path has guided me towards highly unique and experiential training that allow me to create for you a "therapeutic experience" that goes beyond traditional "talk therapy". I am certified in hypnotherapy and EMDR and Breathwork. Spanish is my native language, but I am also fluent in English. I also conduct immigration evaluations.
I work with a wide range of emotional, psychological, behavioral, spiritual and cultural issues providing services that integrate supportive psychotherapy, psychodynamic cognitive-behavioral, hypnotherapy, breathwork, guided imagery, EMDR, meditation and beyond. I am always looking for those "therapeutic moments" that indicate insight is guiding my client in the right direction.
I focus primarily in the healing of trauma, unresolved conflicts and the inner child wounds. I have a very soothing voice that guides my clients to a place of healing, calmness and relaxation. I help my clients heal from depression, anxiety, grief, food addictions, relationship issues and academic problems.
