Julie provides a safe, validating, and mindful environment where children can display their concerns and challenging emotions using sand tray and play therapy.
Children will often display their anxiety and stress at home through outbursts, fighting, meltdowns, or isolating themselves. These identifying symptoms are a child's way of communicating their distress. Sandtray and play therapy provide a fun and safe avenue for children to take charge of their situations and process emotions at their own pace.
When working with adolescents and adults Julie utilizes a person-centered and mindfulness approach using the polyvagal theory to regulate the autonomic nervous system often stuck in fight, flight or freeze.
