I believe one should not feel alone when struggling to cope with daily problems and/or mental illness. My therapeutic approach is evidence-based including a psychodynamic approach and elements of interpersonal process and client-centered therapies. I use a multicultural framework for learning about my clients' values, cultural background, and the circumstances that influence their lives. I see clients as experts on their own lives and collaboratively set treatment goals for making wanted changes. I work to create a warm and safe therapeutic environment.
I work with adults and adolescents (18+) with a variety of presenting concerns including trauma, including relational trauma and childhood interpersonal trauma, anxiety, including social anxiety, and depression. I am EMDR trained.
I am bilingual and provide therapy in English and Portuguese. Growing up in Brazil and living in Toronto, Canada, one of the most multicultural cities in the world, has provided me with great multicultural experience which I bring into therapy. Feel free to reach out!
