Have you witnessed or experienced a highly stressful or traumatic event that is affecting you in your day-to-day life? Was this event experienced during childhood? As an adult? Traumatic experiences can include infidelity, sexual/physical/psychological abuse, neglect as a child, sudden death of a loved one, or a serious accident or illness/medical procedure. You may notice being triggered by things that never caused stress for you in the past. I have extensive training and experience helping adults recover from the emotional responses to trauma including PTSD.
I specialize in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocess Therapy) which has been shown through research to be one of the most effective treatments for trauma especially when traditional talk therapy did not help. I am one of a handful of therapists in the NE Ohio area that is near completion of EMDR Certification through EMDRIA (emdria.org).
I also treat anxiety and depression that so often accompanies trauma issues. I am currently accepting new patients for treatment. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, with a Masters degree in Clinical Counseling from Malone University. am passionate about the positive long term effects trauma therapy can have for individuals and their families
