Individuals who are experiencing mental health issues most often are also struggling with feelings of self-worth and low self-esteem. Using person-centered concepts in combination with strengths-based theories is critical in building positive self-worth and in helping the client discover the best about themselves. I cherish my belief in a higher power and believe that God guides my life through every turn and twist it takes, and it is my hope that I can help each client discover something or someone to have faith in.
Trauma and abuse can cause life-long mental, physical, and emotional damage to those who have experienced it first-hand. I specialize in helping clients take control of their lives by recognizing distorted thinking patterns and replacing them with positive thought patterns that strengthen their self-belief.
I have personally experienced the pain and heartache that is associated with trauma and have fought those daily battles to just make it to the end of the day. Thankfully, I had some amazing therapists who helped me work through the trauma and put my life back together. This is why I do what I do; I want to give back what was given to me.
