I am a seasoned therapist who, like my clients, is in an evolving journey of making sense of life and its challenges. I spent the first part of my career specializing in the treatment of adolescents and families. For the past two decades, my practice has come to include a great deal of work with individual adults and couples who are struggling with issues related to mental health, self-esteem, trauma, relationship difficulties, and life stage concerns. I enjoy working with the challenges of emerging adults as well as those in mid-life and beyond.
I believe that good therapy is based on flexibly using one's professional knowledge , along with the wisdom of experience, to address the unique needs of each client. This flexibility, and my openness to working collaboratively with other professionals on behalf of my clients, is one of my unique strengths.
My style has been described by clients and colleagues as being compassionately direct, down to earth, and very warm. Therapy with me can be defined as being filled with respect, care, humor, and practicality. As my work has evolved, I am also more spiritual in my perspective. I work hard with my clients and am honored to be a part of their journey.
